The concept of a golf-themed barbershop called Shanks occurred to Josh as they weighed anchor in the Mediterranean Sea. You see an anchor is called a shank, as are scissors, in the Navy. Shanks opened Shanks in Forest Oaks CC. in the summer of 2020, and quickly gained a loyal following among the membership, although it is sometimes difficult fore!
An avid golfer to accept the fact that the man behind the chair is very good on the course as well.
I suppose that a deft touch translates across many spectrums, however there are a lot more smiles leaving the barbershop than on his opponents’ faces as they slam their trunks. Stop into Shanks and you’ll always be amazed, not blue.

Fitz has been cutting hair Fore! 30 years, although never on Mondays. He started while at EGHS, and several of those friends are clients at Shanks. He’s an artist with clippers and a straight razor, but its his Auntie C. that is gifted with scissors, paper and glue. Stop in and maybe you’ll hear what it sounded like when he fell off of horse that time, or he’ll sing. It sounds very much the same.
